Have you engaged with the NHS’ mental health services only to find that there’s a months-long wait for a referral? You’re not alone. Fortunately, there are alternatives. Private mental health care services from Socium are affordable, effective and above all, available.

With NHS wait times creeping closer to their 18-week maximum, more people are seeking care in the private sector. Speed and availability aren’t the only reasons to choose private care, however. Our services provide true one-to-one care that’s tailored to your unique needs. We’ve written this blog post to explore just a few of the reasons why more people than ever are choosing to seek private mental health care.

Get seen in 24 hours or less

Getting seen quickly when you need help is one of the key advantages of private mental health care. It’s no secret that public sector health services are extremely busy. People often wait months to even be seen by an NHS specialist.

At Socium, we recognise how important it is to provide help at the right time: when you ask for it. That’s why we’re committed to providing initial assessments for all clients within 24 hours. It couldn’t be simpler; send us a message on our website or call our friendly team and we’ll arrange an initial assessment with a senior clinician for the next day.

This makes Socium’s private mental health care services the ideal alternative, or temporary solution to, lengthy NHS wait times. It can take months to progress through the NHS care system. We can help you make a jump start on recovery by filling the gap; we’re happy to work with you either on a temporary basis or as a more permanent alternative to NHS treatment.

Flexibility at the core

Private mental health care provides more than just expediency, though. By their very nature, public sector treatments tend to be quite rigid and inflexible.

We do not believe that one size fits all. That’s why we offer such a wide range of services. In our initial assessment, we’ll discuss how you’re feeling, how you’re handling your challenges, and how any other treatments you’re taking are going. It’s only after we understand your challenges that we recommend a way forward.

We tailor all of our services to each of our clients, because we recognise that no two people’s experiences are the same. Many of our clients choose to use more than one of our services. We’re more than happy to revisit your care as your recovery progresses.

Socium Case Management is ideal if you’re receiving treatment already, but you’re finding that your voice gets lost among the noise. It can be hard to juggle the range of different specialists, treatments and appointments that often come along with complex cases. Our dedicated case managers are here to help you keep track of your treatment, answer any questions you may have, and give you the tools you need to be a strong advocate in your own recovery.

Socium Check In gives you a weekly call with a registered mental health nurse. In this call, we’ll discuss how you’re feeling and any medications you’ve been prescribed, as well as talking about your daily activities and physical well-being. Check In could be perfect for you if you’re going through treatment already, but you could use a little extra help staying on track. It’s also an ideal service for teenagers and adolescents, giving them back the control and agency that can so often be missing from mental health care. Check In leaves you in charge. With a half hour call once a week, make sure your recovery is going to plan.

Live-in Care is designed to suit our clients who need or want a more involved treatment process. A fantastic alternative to in-patient treatments, our live-in care service pairs our clients with a registered mental health nurse. Your live-in carer will help you maintain your daily life while you recover, giving you the same level of care you’d receive in an in-patient facility but without any of the associated isolation or disruption.

One-to-one care

All of our services are provided on a one-to-one basis, giving them a number of advantages. Since we only ever cater to you, our services are tuned to your unique needs. No two of our clients are the same, so why should the care they receive be the same?

Our live-in nurses, for example, provide a level of care you’d usually expect from a residential facility, but with all the advantages that come from remaining in your home. Quite apart from anything else, this means that your privacy and confidentiality are guaranteed.
